| Review of 2000In the special Millennium year when the Choir celebrated its fifteen anniversary, we had a full and varied programme of extra performances. The highlights for us this year have been the Good Friday Concert with amazing feedback from the audience on how they were touched and blessed that evening and a very successful rendering of Sing Good News in the "Spend an evening with us and Pam Rhodes", the BBC 'Songs of Praise' presenter. She thrilled the audience with her narration. We also had a fabulous trip to Jersey again singing extracts from the biblical musical Sing Good News. We held our two holiday-maker concerts as usual this summer, with the Floral Guernsey Theme on 4th June and the Spend an evening with us and Pam Rhodes of BBC TV's Songs of Praise on 25th June. Both were at St James Concert Hall. We also had a packed St James Concert Hall with the British Telecoms sponsored event BT Voices for Hospices. Along with hundreds of other choirs, orchestras and groups in a global musical event covering more than fifty countries, it featured all the fun and music of The Last Night at the Proms with the Choir and their guests, The Guernsey Concert Band and Robin Littler. We then moved into the final part of the programme for 2000 with informal carol singing in the town of St Peter Port when the Christmas lights were switched on. The final event of the year was our ever popular Christmas Carol Festival concert held on two nights on 8th and 9th December at St James. These concerts were performed to a full house. Click here for details. The States of Guernsey and the local population once again gave us tremendous support for which we are most grateful. As a Millennium event, the Festival Chorus twinned with the Cambrensis Choir of Wales and the London Emmanuel Choir. Events performed by the Choir in 2000
