| Review of 2001In 2001 the Choir celebrated its sixteenth anniversary under the leadership of our Musical Director Roy Sarre, we had our usual full and varied programme. he first major event this year was 'Music for Good Friday' at St James which featured our special guest star Peter Jackson. The evening offered a profound portrayal of the events of those biblical times from Palm Sunday through to the crucifixion of Christ. Next was our Liberation Sunday celebration concert 'A spring Night at the Proms' with guest star Robin Littler on the Organ. This took us up to our two holiday-maker summer concerts with the Floral Guernsey Finale concert theme on 10th June 'A Floral Tribute' with our guest stars Jeffrey and Rachel Howard on Organ and Harp. On 1st July we presented 'Sounds of Summer' featuring special guest stars Marilyn Baker and Peter Jackson. Peter and Marilyn met some years ago at the Blind Torch Scholl in Birmingham and now after several attempts, we managed to persuade them to appear together for what was a very special performance. We also took part in the Town Carnival Week activities in July and sang for Action Aid in October. However to round off the year, were our most popular of all concerts, the Christmas Carol Concerts on 14th & 15th December which featured carols, bells, party hats and seasonal music for everyone at St James and a special performance from the Childrens' choir Friendship Company. These concerts were performed to a full house. The States of Guernsey and the local population once again gave us tremendous support for which we are most grateful.
