| Noticeboard 2000This page is used to communicate details to team leaders and choir members. June 2000 We are pleased to report that we are maintaining high audience numbers and with willing audience participation in our varied programmes. We are already booking well for our "Last Night at the Proms" concert on 14th October. The highlights this year have been the Good Friday Concert with amazing feedback from the audience on how they were touched and blessed that evening and a very successful rendering of Sing Good News in the "Spend an evening with us and Pam Rhodes", the BBC 'Songs of Praise' presenter. She thrilled the audience with her narration. Our Jersey visit was exceptional and probably the best ever for breaking down barriers and uniting Channel Island Christians. Again it was a time for sensing God's spirit at work, not least through the powerful fellowship of uniting voices together in the still popular musical 'Sing Good News' from the Bible Society. Our programme of events is already well in hand up to 2003 including singing tours of Holland and St David's Hall, Wales in 2001 and the Holy Land in 2003. Roy Sarre, our Musical Director is now launching his annual recruitment campaign and is inviting all interested voices as potential singers to contact him on tel. no. 01481 263930, fax 01481 265004 or E-mail info@festivalchorus.org.gg or Dave Packham on 01481 247780. Some musical background will help but no singing experience is essential. Just come and rehearse with 100 voices at St Martin's school on Monday evenings starting 4th September at 7.30pm. It is however important that you speak to Roy Sarre beforehand rather than just turn up. Male and female voices (especially altos) are needed. You will be really welcome. Come along and have a good sing. On August 9th - 19th, a group of the choir go on a pilgrimage and holiday to Austria and see the passion play. 4th September sees the start of the new term and all new voices will be welcome. We shall be preparing for the concerts on 14th October and 8th/9th December 7th September, Choir Open House for existing choir members and new recruits with a BBQ and baps on the beach, weather permitting! 13th October will be a rehearsal night as will be 2nd and 5th December at 7.30 at St James. New term starts 8th January 2001. Singing tours planned for St David's Hall, Cardiff and Holland in 2001 and the Holy Land in 2003. |
