For thirteen years Pam has been known around the World as the main presenter of Songs of Praise. She has a relaxed, informal style which helps her considerably when she talks to interviewees about sensitive, often quite traumatic experiences in their lives. Recent high profile interviews have included the Pope, Dr Christian Barnard, James Galway, Pat Boone, Cliff Richard, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dame Thora Hird and members of the Royal family. She is mum to two youngsters, Max who is nearly 17 and bethan who is 10. They live in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. She is Vice President of the Church Army, on the management committee of the RNLI, Patron of Wildlife Aid and also of Anorexia and Bulimia Care Besides being a prolific writer, she is also keen on gardening and loves to potter around in the garden in her wellies. She reads music, plays the piano and can turn her hand to a mean piece on the concert xylophone, when really pressed. Her first novel in 1996 'With hearts and Hymns and Voices' quickly became the best selling Christian book in the UK. In 1998 she published 'The Trespassers' and 'Whispers' in 1999 (both through Hodder & Stoughton). In Autumn 2000, she published ' Living and loved' , a photographic book of the country's favourite churches. |
