About St James
St James is the home of the Choir. This former church was restored several years ago led by a group of dedicated people who formed the Friends of St James Association. Through personal and corporate funding, the building was restored to its former glory. The acoustics in the building are fabulous and make it the perfect place for Festival Chorus performances.
The Friends of St James are currently raising funds for the building the New Dorey Centre. This will provide new and better facilities including:
a bistro style restaurant with terrace
use of more seats in the gallery
private bar at gallery level
a range of meeting and rehearsal rooms
a small shop
a fully equipped box office
wheelchair access
improved toilets
the ability to run several activities at the same time
