28th July - 4th August 2001 For the fourth year running, the Carnival Committee of the St Peter Port Traders Association have agreed to once again run Town Carnival week. This year the Carnival starts in the last week of July for a week and continues with a running programme of entertainment in town throughout August and ends on Sunday 26th August. Once again Roy Sarre has been given the responsibility of co-ordinating 'Carnival Christian Focus' and hopes that together with the various churches on the island, he can add to the past three years in making the Christian Witness 'on the front' even more relevant, providing a full programme for all ages from early afternoon to late evening. A large marquee seating up to 1,400 people is being provided. Children, Sunday schools, groups, bands, worship groups, singers, churches, chapels and choirs are now being invited to contact Roy indicating what time they would like to participate on 26th August in the afternoon or evening. A united interdenominational service will be arranged for all churches to participate in - more details to follow soon. Anyone interested in participating is asked to fill in the attached response form and then follow it up with more detail once the church or fellowship group have prayed this through. 'AN OPPORTUNITY NOT TO MISS!'' See attached Response Form
This is always a popular and well supported family event. Fourteen hundred seats will be available. Don't miss it!! |
